Do you feel like you Fail Lent?

If you feel like you always “fail lent” you are missing the point…

Growing up lent was a time I would give up something for the point to lose weight…anyone else give up chocolate?

Or that time after my conversion when I tried to give up coffee…ask my hubs how that went…

Or with my kids I would try to create a million holy habits I never did as a kid…and then found myself being angry and mean when they didn’t happen.

Or the time I gave up TV for everyone…

I have “failed” many Lents by the lens of perfect and crafty and transformation by MY hands.

So what do we do?

It’s not all or nothing and it’s not nothing at all…It’s making a list and taking it to prayer and asking Jesus…

What Can I do to better honor the gift of my body and grow closer to you?

What Can I do to nourish my family and myself and grow closer to you?

What can I do to develop habits of prayer to nourish my soul and the souls of my family and grow closer to you?

Jesus, What do you want me to do?

I am offering a 7 day Refocus Lent challenge to give you resources and then to encourage you to pray and ask HIM what he wants you to do…

We will share ideas. Encouragement. Resources. Pray, and plan what He is calling each of us to do for our Lent.

We start this weekend and will create a plan…and it will include taking care or yourself body and soul because I think that is important too. As well as meatless meal ideas.
